Clay Shoe – 3D

This is the shoe that I created out of clay using the instructables website, it was very frustrating and I did not much enjoy working with the clay but I gave it my best shot and the result, though unimpressive, was better than I had expected.

Cathy Miles – Wire sculpture.

I researched wire sculpture that was similar to the project I had in mind when deciding what to base my creation off and pulled up this artist. Her work interested me because of its very deceptively simple design and interesting narrative.

Artist unknown – Ceramics

Using the instructables website I was able to follow a simple and well put together guide on how I could make my own shoe out of clay. I able to quickly and easily mould my own shoe following this guide.

FMP Proposal

Skull Photo Study

Pencil sketches practicing the forms and structure of the human skull without its jaw.

Mollie Sketch

I decided to try further modifications of the human face, this time incorporating a third eye.

Zoe (Finished)

I had a friend volunteer for a portrait, giving me full creative freedom, I have been playing around with sketches of skulls/animal heads to eventually be combined with a human face and this is the first finished example of that.

Zoe Process

To finish the piece, I added a hint of green overall and played with the levels slightly, I definitely learned a lot about creating realistic looking fur when painting this.

Lion Head Process

This was my process for creating the final piece, the whole painting took around 3 or 4 hours, I think my biggest critique for this piece is the mane, it could definitely look a little less messy, unfortunately I didn’t have a good reference for the mane and let myself go with it.
